The ocean, the storm and then calm; the wind and the sun.

Some albums own strong visual impact as well as emotional; “Lighthouse” the new discographic project by Old Sparky (band from Cagliari, Italy) it’s the prove: 12 suggestive tracks framed between light and dark, like night visions kindled by a lighthouse beam.

It’s no coincidence that “Lighthouse” is a concept album inspired by a series of lighthouses’ stories by Annamaria Lilla Mariotti.

The result is a beautiful and unique mix of instrumental electronic music with hints of ambient and jazz, with dreamy and delicate atmospheres (”Deep Blue“, “Wind“, “Tourist“) that swing between more rhythmical and of strong impact songs (”The Lighthouse“) thanks also to the touch of Fabio Desogus, creator of Old Sparky.

With this work OS goes back to the roots. The first record “Apnea” released in 1999 is a solo project that over the years sees the collaboration of different musicians and singers; in fact the previous work “Themes” was recorded by a complete band, composed not only of Desogus but also of Mauro Concas on guitar and Camilla Cabras.

Today Old Sparky is back to instrumental electronic where the 12 tracks of  ”Lighthouse” are played, arranged and recorded only by Fabio Desogus. Gabriele “Doublas” Carta made the loops and effects, and Michele Losito who plays the trumpet in “Waves “.
