Vasco Rossi was born on February 2nd, 1952 in Zocca (Italy) a quiet town of the Apennines Mountains halfway between Bologna and Modena, from housewife Novella Corsi and truck driver Carlo Rossi. It is the latter of the two to impose the name Vasco, because it haunted him for many years, since prisoner in a concentration camp in Germany, shared his days with a friend named Vasco.
